OCU men lock with OBU 1-1 after two OTs

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University men's soccer tied Oklahoma Baptist 1-1 in two overtimes on Thursday night at Stars Field, ending a 13-match OCU winning streak.

The Stars' only goal came from Stephen Sheffield, a senior from Jacksonville, Texas. He was assisted by John Dill, a sophomore from Broken Arrow, Okla. Oklahoma Baptist scored the tying goal in the 72nd minute of the match.

OCU, ranked second in the NAIA, had a chance to score a second goal in the first half of the match with a penalty kick, but were unsuccessful.

Goalkeeper Andy Fitzpatrick, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., had nine saves in the match.

This was the final match for OCU in conference play with a record of 15-1-1, 7-0-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Stars face St. Thomas (Texas) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Stars Field.
